Charles C. Chase started his career in real estate development in 1974. He focused on residential land development, creating more than two dozen communities in the Northern Neck area of Virginia. Chase created the first waterfront townhome community in Northumberland County on Indian Creek.
In 2001 Chase started acquiring and developing self storage properties. Over the next five years he had assembled a portfolio of Plantation Storage facilities with over 302,000 square feet of storage.
In mid 2009 Chase felt that the self storage industry’s third-party management model needed some improvement. With his son, March Chase, they formed Southeast Management Company with the mission to focus their attention and energy with an owner’s viewpoint always at the forefront. From December 2012 to December 2019 Southeast Management Company grew to manage twenty self storage facilities from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama. In addition, SEM has expanded their services to include feasibility studies, consulting services, and site selection assistance.
March Chase is President of Southeast Management Company. Throughout his career, March has covered all aspects of the industry from the Facility Management level, to District Management, to Director of Operations, Vice President, and now President.
